The product department manages the existing product range effectively and further develops products, systems, and services according to the market requirements and as defined by the divisional go-to-market strategy, as well as through developing specific product expertise within the department and defined product categories.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric or equivalent.
  • South African citizen with clear credit and criminal record.
  • Experience in product management or studies in the field will be beneficial.
  • Min 5 years practical experience at WÜRTH or related industries.
  • Highly analytical with experience in reporting, data analysis incl MS Excel, BI/BO5.
  • Deep understanding of product development processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
  • Continuous learner with interest in staying up to date with industry news and innovations.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments including excellent communication skills.
  • Project management skills and knowledge.
  • Understanding of financial analysis to determine ROI, product viability and allocation of resources.
  • Understanding of quantitative analysis techniques for performance measurement and forecasting.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with a high level of problem-solving skills.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the team of product managers and growth of each category.
  • Ensuring range maintenance (stock and system), development and implementation of product processes.
  • Leading and managing Master Service and ensuring profitability, warranty management.
  • Supplier sourcing and liaison.
  • Ongoing development of market expertise including that of the product managers.
  • Market and competitor analysis.
  • New product validation and approvals.
  • Initiate and guide creation of catalogues and product brochures.
  • Product quality management and assurance, product compliance and certifications.
  • Management and monitoring of stock depreciation in collaboration with purchasing to determine stock levels and reduce overstock.
  • Manage utilization and updates on all systems such as STEP, IPL, WS1 ensuring accurate & complete product.
  • Active participation in development of pricing strategy.
  • Develop a sales and customer support structure to efficiently manage queries and complaints.
